Roji Mingle is a community space in the Higashi-gomon Square of Sumpu Castle Park in the centre of Shizuoka City. Conceived as an “Asian-style alley” with lots of stalls, karaoke, DJ booths and a mixture of smells and sounds that all add up to the hustle and bustle of a typical market area that brings together different kinds of people and cultures and fosters lively conversations, while other nearby stalls will be selling fine local foods from Shizuoka. Altogether then, at the World Theatre Festival Shizuoka 2026, audiences and other visitors will be able to find pleasure in walking around the local streets and markets to enjoy all sorts of delights besides the central theatre performances.
