World Theatre Festival Shizuoka 2016 will feature works from all five continents performed at SPAC’s venues, and around the city of Shizuoka itself.

In what will be a theatre version of a global all-star game being held over Golden Week from late April to early May, the line-up features plays by William KENTRIDGE (South Africa), Olivier PY (France), ONG Keng Sen (Singapore) and Canada’s Lebanese-born Wajdi MOUAWAD. In addition, Tim WATTS (Australia) and Sawsan BOU KHALED (Lebanon) will join the festival as selected young dramatists.
As I’m in charge of organizing this festival, I will also join this all-star game — and though I’m not sure whether I will shine compared with the others, I’ll try not to be beaten by them!
